Andygames - Coldgearz

Forward:
Coldgearz is very special to me, not only because it was my first quality creation, but because the game was so widely distributed and enjoyed. I still receive mail about it on a regular basis. The story is very simple, and graphics stood out for the time. Although I have vastly improved, this piece of work is always in my mind. It was, and still is planned to be a trilogy. Currently I cannot promise set dates for the next installment or reveal information on the installment's progress.

About:

Coldgearz is a platform shooter that should be a treat for all old school gamers.

Story:
This game takes place in the near future, after a major world conflict. Thankfully earth is now at peace, humans have come together as one. During this epic war intelligent robotics were invented, then used as soldiers. After the war our global government judged that they were too dangerous to keep. (Do to the fact they were all programmed killers.) The robots were abandoned on Badicit. (Badicit is an island that saw a lot of battle during the world conflict.)The military’s little toys were survivors though. They live with only one urge, finish their mission and kill until no humans are left! Somehow they have created a large energy cell to sustain themselves, and have built a large base on top of many bases (made by people) used during the war. Continuing to grow and build more of their army, these robots have become a deadly force that now threatens earth...
You are a member of the DF Unit. (A team of special troopers from around the earth trained to wipe out these robots.) Your job is to annihilate them all. The government and your team refer to the robots as Coldgearz. They have evolved so much since the war; they are nothing like the military’s original toys.
The only way to achieve Coldgearz destruction is by infiltrating their base, then destroying the energy cell keeping them alive. Action begins right when the helicopter containing you team lands. Continuing through the game will allow you to unlock new parts to the story.

About the DF Unit Members:

From left to right as follows,

Player:
A basic DF unit member.

Harris:
The DF Unit's leader. An older man in his late 50's but still very strong.
He uses two handheld sub-machineguns.

Snipe:
A strange yet intelligent individual. Snipe (and sometimes Deadeye) are only nick names.
His real name is Lloyd. Lloyd uses (as his name implies) a sniper rifle.
The rifle is designed to work with his full armor suit and goggles.
Being a quiet soul not much else is know about him or his past.

Butch:
Butch is very large (not overly hefty, just tall and muscular) for a normal man.
He keeps his trademark black glasses on at all times. Butch is an expert with explosives and heavy weaponry.

Jack:
Jack is a young arrogant fellow. He uses a normal DF Unit shotgun and has strange urges to be in the middle of action.
Jack likes to openly make rude remarks at how he could do your job better…

Ruby:
Ruby is not trained in combat, bet she still carries a state of the art revolver.
Her main mission is to provide medical assistance. Your character and she seem much attached.
